Job Description
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years Mechanical Engineering experience
- Experience with maintenance work processes, predictive maintenance technologies, RCFA, RCM, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and modern reliability engineering methodologies
Familiar with SAP PM maintenance management module including experience installing, operating and optimizing respective systems
- Strong problem solving, organizational & communication skills (written & oral)
- Able to collect and interpret
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to work well with people at all levels in the organization Experience in a polymer manufacturing facility is preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
- Must be a 'self starter' who is able to recommend correct courses of action to all levels of management
Responsible for
- Providing sites with the tools and work processes to maximize plant uptime and minimize maintenance costs by improving equipment mean-time-between-failure and mean-time-to- repair
- Monitor maintenance activities for repetitive maintenance items and develop list of top reliability issues.
- Initiate work to eliminate the root causes of those that can be economically justified.
Troubleshoot equipment performance issues, evaluate equipment repair versus replacement and recommend corrective actions.
- Establishes standard maintenance, reliability, storeroom, and energy efficiency performance metrics to gauge the 'current state' and provide the basis for continuous improvement
- Lead and /or facilitate root cause failure analysis (RCFA) reviews and/or reliability centered maintenance (RCM) exercises
- Tracks and publishes standardized maintenance performance metrics on a routine basis consistent with company requirements and aligns maintenance performance indicators with overall business key performance indicators
- Works with the sites to develop and maintain current PM procedures and schedules that are effective and 'add value' to the plant
- Perform engineering calculations related to the performance of heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, specialty mechanical equipment, and piping systems and components
- Support pressure equipment and mechanical inspectors by providing technical advice related to the operation, startup, shutdown, maintenance, repair, and upgrades.
- Work with operations in development of procedures for critical/major equipment including training as appropriate
- Identify and implement ideas to improve operational performance, increase unit availability, and reduce costs
- Assist in planning for turnarounds, equipment overhauls, and major inspection / maintenance activities
- Perform life cycle cost analysis on design modification and equipment upgrade options Maintain an equipment replacement forecast and monitor end of service life trends
- Provide engineering and field support for projects; provide technical input to capital projects and support to develop project options.
- Handle small capital projects from idea development through completion.
